I’m not a good person. I’m just better at trying to be a good person than most people.
I am a female..
Throughout the years people have treated others unfairly for a variety of stupid reasons. Body type, race, color, and sex. Even those that have not suffered from any type of genocide or racial oppression have at some point treated women as if they were nothing. Machines meant to be used for pleasure and reproduction. Treated as property, traded for two chickens and a goat, unregarded for as long as anyone can remember. Who made the decision that we were inferior in any way? Who was the first male to see a woman and see her as so much of a threat with our natural compassion and caring ways, useful for raising both little girls and boys alike, and decide to pretend that that was all she was really good for. Yes, our bodies are designed more subtly. We are not as burly and strong or obviously muscular as men are built to be. Yet we are made to last. Women live longer. They always have. Our bodies are miraculous within themselves. The things we are made to go through and withstand. I’d like to see a man sit in agony for hours as a part of their body expands to 10 times its size on its own and then having to squeeze out a newborn child causing every cell in their body to scream within an inch of their life. As natural as it may be, it is dangerous in even the best cases. These males who were surely raised with women surrounding them. Their mothers, sisters, aunts, and grandmothers, members of their family. The instinct to protect the woman should always be at the forefront of a man’s mind but give us more credit. Our wit and common sense surpasses the male population on a daily basis. Nowadays, colleges are 65% female and growing. From their superiority complex also stems the pride which led them to oppress those from which they were born. It stifles the necessity to ask for help and depend on others. Maybe a lot of these traits are interchangeable between men and women but it shocks me that these old customs and traditions, which should be a thing of the past are brought up in daily conversation and sometimes still regarded as true. I just saw a tweet that said, “I hate when a girl talks like a nigga.” 1) That’s a derogatory term in itself. (but that belongs in another rant) 2) Any female has freedom of speech and can say whatever she wants. If it bothers you that a girl uses slang. If it bothers you that she likes sports and video games. If it bothers you that she wears sneakers and could kick your ass if she wanted to. If it bothers you that she wants to wear snapbacks, fitteds, jerseys etc. If it bothers you that she doesn’t feel the need to wear PINK clothing or have perfectly manicured nails all the time. If it bothers you then you really need to check yourself. That’s prejudice, wrongful judgement, and the most annoying ignorant thing I’ve ever heard. This world is full of callous, judgemental, idiotic morons. It’s 2012. How about we start acting like it.
